(More customer reviews)The clothing templates that come with this kit are a much smaller scale than the dogs, making it very frustrating for children to transfer the clothing to the dog. They have to be drawn on free hand rather than traced. As an adult, I would even find this hard to do and get them to scale. Also, the glue that holds the design book had dried up and the booklet had fallen out. I was not happy to have to pay two way shipping to FAT BRAIN TOYS(even though I ordered this from Amazon.com) for an item that didn't meet expectations by a long shot.

(More customer reviews)We got this thinking it could be used to create dresses that would fit a barbie sized doll, wrong. First the form was VERY cheap and fell apart as we opened the package. The form is not shape like any torso I know, just a fat rectangle piece of foam covered with cheap felt. It was supposed to be glued to the black stick running through the center, but the glue had dried and the body came off. The Project Runway note pad is simply a generic glued note pad with about 30 sheets, nothing more (you could get 10 of the same thing for a dollar at the Dollar Store). The patterns look like you might be able to adjust them to possibly fit a barbie sized doll, but with a LOT of adjustment! I took some picture so you could actually see what they sent you. [....]

(More customer reviews)I purchased this item for my 9 year old daughter who loves creating fashion designs out of paper. This was the third item I have purchased for her and the first one to fail. The mean reason my daughter has spent very little time using it is because there are very few instructions to guide her. The set comes with white plastic plates that we have no idea what to use them for. It includes a tracing pad with nothing to trace. Some sample drawings and designs of a full model would be very useful. Overall, a well package product that has the potential to be a fun set for a creative young girl, but it needs some more thought and work.

(More customer reviews)I bought this for my six-year-old daughter because I had fashion plates when I was a kid. This is a very poor knockoff of the classic toy. The classic worked, and was good for hours of fun. Using this version, the rubbings are barely visible, and the paper slides and the plates move around as you try to make them. Don't waste your money on this garbage.

(More customer reviews)Got this for my daughter's 9th birthday - she carries it in her backpack to school where she and her friends design their own fashions and then name them. Seems to be a hit with that age group. The color pencils are VERY small but guess they have to be for the compact size. Very manageable size to carry around and the whole thing is put together nicely and securely. I would definitely recommend and am purchasing more to be given to her friends for birthday gifts.

of it and not the physical set I was uncertain how good it was, but my 12 year old is very happy
with it. She spent hours over the Christmas school break designing and illustrating all kinds of
costumes from runway models, to cool band outfits and red carpet events. We also bought a
Vanity Fair book on fashion and I think between the two items she has been drawn into the world
of fashion which is a new and not so surprising interest for her age group. I would add to this set
the option to buy additional design drawing books, she has drawn so much she will run out of them
very quickly. The set was very age appropriate and I was very happy about that. Thanks for a great product

This product was reviewed with high marks on a blog that I follow and I knew I would purchase this for my girl for Christmas. She played with this the entire Christmas Day! I was worried she was going to use up all of the paper the first day! She loves to put together different outfits and varying colors and is always so proud to show me her fashion sense! Playing with this makes her feel proud of something she has created.

He loves to change to outfits and will stay entertained for anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes playing (a long time for this age group). Joey is a great addition so that little boys can play with dress up dolls without having to use girl figures, and he also enjoys the different costumes and pretends with us each character. For the price it is great. The only thing is that if he drools on it, the paper becomes soggy so be careful if your child is a drooler.

Crayola 10-Pack Fabric Markers (Single Box) Review

(More customer reviews)Last year I used Crayola Fabric Markers for a VBS, t-shirt, craft project. I tested the fabric makers on an old t-shirt to see how easy they would be to use. Children from 1st grade through 6th grade were coloring in a t-shirt design. I was very pleased with these markers, they were much easier for the kids to use than fabric crayons or fabric paints.
When coloring a design on a t-shirt, the fabric must be kept tight. I put a copy of the design on a magazine, then placed the magazine, with the design on top, inside the t-shirt. (so the design could be seen through the shirt)Then stapled around the design, keeping the shirt tight. I prepared 80 t-shirts in this way.
The colors are bright & don't run. The markers should not be shaken, should be re-capped as soon as possible, and should be stored in a horizontal position.
The design must be heat set which can be done by ironing the back of the design using a back and forth motion for 4 minutes...or...the design can be placed in a dryer, using the hottest setting, for 30 minutes.
I have bleached the sample t-shirt twice, surprisingly the Crayola Fabric Marker design was not affected. It's as bright as the first day I made it.

Fashion Design Studio Review

(More customer reviews)I got this for my 11 year old daughter and she really likes it a lot. The dressmaker's form is sooo cute! It also comes with lots of other goodies. She has played with it for two solid days now and more important, is really interested in learning how to sew. I am not suprised that a nine year old struggled with it...however it is marked "10 and up." It is really not so much a toy as a mini design studio. I think the best thing is that the dress form can be used for draping fabrics which is an essential skill for young designers! My daugher has pinned two dresses together and they looked amazing. I bought this thinking it would be a fun and non threatening way to learn sewing, which I never really learned and always regretted. Plus it's just like Project Runway! I also recommend a few accessories which are available at Hearthsong, like a teeny sewing machine and a sewing kit. Overall, this is one of the nicest craft kits I've seen.

(More customer reviews)I've never written a review on anything before but had to for this. My 5 1/2 year old daughter LOVES this!!! She had a book fair at school and begged me to get this for her. I thought it would be too hard for her and she'd get frustrated. I caved and bought it for her and she does great with it. She asks every day if she can design. Sometimes she has friends or family members design something and she has everyone sign what they've made.
This allows for great creativity and fine motor skills and keeps her busy for hours!
