(More customer reviews)This new doll is much different than the older version. We liked the old doll with its style and costumes based on the book. My daughters enjoy the art of the classic books, and thus were not keen on receiving this Madeline. This doll is more glamorous, which is missing the point of brave Madeline who was not a fashion plate. She does have a nice scar, but her long hair and glitzy face makes her look ostentatious and flashy. She is not the young Madeline who worried Miss Clavel. This doll wears a bit too much makeup - I guess that would worry Miss Clavel, too.

(More customer reviews)This outfit is about the same complexity as most other Madeline outfits. Some parts are easy to get on, but for other parts my daughter's little fingers need help. My daughter likes to dress Madeline up in this because then she can dance around the house and play along to the "Madeline at the Ballet" video.
