Shure Daisy Girls Dress-Up Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a really fun toy for little girls. So much better than the traditional paper dolls. The magnet clothes fit right on the dolls. I love how the dolls are little girls instead of the busty unrealistic dolls that are so common right now. Plus, the purse carrying case holds all the pieces so well. This is a great purchase for any little girl that loves to play dress up, play with dolls or change their outfit ten times a day

Melissa & Doug Bake and Decorate Cupcake Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)We have a lot of Melissa and Doug items and we're always generally very impressed with them. The cupcake set is great fun and our six year old wanted it so much that she bought it with her own money. To start off with, it's a high quality toy. They're basically wooden cupcakes with candles that velcro on top. The whole concept of the icing markers is fun and all the kids (friends included) enjoy "decorating" the cupcakes. The part you draw on is a sort of plastic lid that fits over the wooden cupcake and is supposed to look like icing. It even comes with a little baking tin (wooden) and an oven mitt. There are paper cupcake liners in fun patterns included that aren't going to last forever, but hey...they are paper. We've generally got liners in the pantry so that's not a huge deal.
The big flaw in this toy is that the wooden cupcakes are not finished in a type of paint that will allow you to wipe the dry erase marker off of them. Only the plastic "icing" can be erased. Admittedly if you look at the very fine print on the back of the box it reads "Markers are intended for wipe-off icing surfaces only. Do not use markers on other components." Realistically however, giving kids some dry erase markers and letting them go to town on pretend cupcakes, is going to result in the entire cupcake getting "decorated." In the scheme of things it doesn't really matter because my daughter loves them anyway, but it does keep me from giving this toy Melissa and Doug's usual high approval rating. If this is something that is going to upset you or your child, you'd be better off buying another of their products.

Melissa & Doug Magnetic Ballerina Dress Up Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Melissa & Doug's magnetic wooden answers to traditional paper dolls are great for young children. Their durability is out of this world -- and they include a partitioned wooden case to keep track of all the little pieces when playtime is through. The ballerina is no exception.
I find that some of the skirt shapes (particularly those which show part of the doll's legs as part of the clothing piece) are too chunkily executed for my taste, and some of the garments (especially the vests!) are tacky beyond all reckoning, but I've yet to meet a little girl who complained about either. That's just my grownup sensibilities talking.
If you're buying for a little ballerina-lover, this is the toy for you. If not, look around a little bit at Melissa and Doug's many other wooden "paper" dolls. You might find something even better.

Haba Nelly Soft Doll - 12 inches tall Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I've gotten this doll for my granddaughter's first Christmas. I am ever so pleased with the quality of workmanship. The facial features are stitched on, she's soft and huggable, just the right size for our little girl, the hair is not yarn, and this doll has no plastic or vinyl on her.
I do have a concern about the laces on the shoes for a child so young, but my daughter assures me that they will be removed and not used until our granddaughter is of an age that they will not longer pose a danger.
I am not purchasing additional clothing for her (although I love the clothing that could be purchased) because I remember that my children's dolls mostly went around naked for quite a while when my girls were little, and I feel it would be better to wait until the dolls stay clothed before making that purchase.
I do recommend this doll. She's just right for us. I can hardly wait for Christmas!

Plan Toy Fruit and Vegetable Play Set Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I first got this set for my 15 months old daughter. She really likes it and keeps playing with this set endlessly. Although she is still a little young to chop the pieces by herself, she absolutely loves it when I'm there helping her chop. Since then, I have been giving this similar set to many friends. All reported back that their girls LOVE this play set. All the moms said that this set offers so much fun of a pretend play. The construction is solid. Good quality wood. Safe paint. It also came with a knife and a chopping board!
One of the best thing about this fruit and veggie play set is its look. It doesn't look "fake" like other brands. The color of each fruit is softer and looks more real.
In my opinion, this set can be enjoyed by the kids as young as 15 months old, but will be a bigger hit once they are ~20 months (or when they have a better control of their fine motor skill).
Highly recommended! You won't be disappointed.

Shure Daisy Girls Ballet Dress-Up Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My daughter played with this toy for 3 hours of a 4 hour flight. She continued to want to play with it during our trip and 2 hours of our return flight. It's hard to keep track of all the little pieces but we have only lost 1 tiara in 2 planes, 2 cars, 2 houses so I do not feel too bad.

(More customer reviews)I bought this toy for my granddaughter who is 4. It is made so beautifully. It is not cardboard or chipboard but real wood. The construction is amazing. I don't know who the illustrator is but the dolls and clothes are so stinken cute. The magnets actually hold but are not too strong for little hands; so the clothes are easy to put on and take off. I am looking forward to many hours of fun with my granddaughter and this toy. Great value!!!
