My Twinn Doll's Travel Trunk Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this doll's trunk during the holidays as a gift for my daughter. As with a previous reviewer, I simply could not find a trunk that would fit a 24" My Twinn doll elsewhere, and so I purchased this trunk directly from My Twinn. When I recieved the trunk, it was such a disappointment! The gold-colored trimming on the outside of the trunk is made of a very thin vinyl, which was peeling up along it's edges, and in some places, was not glued down at all. The satin-fabric-covered pieces lining the interior were not glued down securely either. It looked like glue had been applied, but had dried before the pieces were securely attached. Although the trunk's core is wood, the finish materials are of the poorest quality, and the workmanship is shoddy (exterior of the shipping carton said it was made in China). I called My Twinn and told them the trunk was defective, received an RA number, but was told that I would have to ship it back myself. It cost [...] to ship the item back via UPS Ground, and so far, My Twinn has not issued me a refund for the return shipping! I have spoken to a customer service representative over the phone, as well as sent several e-mails and a fax of my UPS invoice, but so far no luck. I was told earlier that it was not their policy to pay for return shipping of this item. I will keep trying! My Twinn is the only company I have dealt with that will not pay for return shipping of a defective product. BUYER BEWARE. This is an inferior product, and in addition, My Twinn will not stand behind their products.
2/3/2010 UPDATE: My Twinn has offered me a [...] GC as a "courtesy". Doubt if I'll actually use it at his point! Bottom line: if any item you purchase from My Twinn is defective, the company will not refund any shipping costs.

Violet Travilla Presentation Doll Review

(More customer reviews)My 10 year old daughter has had Violet for over a year now and she still loves it!! My younger daughter has Millie Kieth (she also loves it). The doll is very well made, the hair is very high quality and easy to braid or style in many ways just read the instructions with taking care of the hair, and the clothes are AMAZING! They are very detailed with lace and ribbons and No velcro, but hand sewn snaps. The body is all molded plastic not a cloth body like American Girl, which I think is much nicer. It looks much more realistic and you don't see tan material around the neck when you have certain outfits on.
The dolls are based on books by Mission Press so you can play out the era and life of what your doll was created from. My daughter is just getting into the books so they would be more difficult for younger girls to understand.
The life of faith doll clothes and accesories are EXCEPTIONAL. They are quite expensive, but if you want something that will last, not tear at the seams or have velcro that gets stuck to everything, and be able to pass these on to your grandkids than the clothes are worth it.
Overall I highly recommend these dolls, but I have just recently found out that they stopped making them a few months ago. It really is to bad, because they are beautiful.

Disney Princess Shimmering Lights Ariel Doll Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this doll for our 3 yr old who is an Ariel fanatic. The doll is very pretty (although loud) and our daughter loves it, however, even though the directions say water toy we had the same problems that a previous poster had. The first couple of times the doll was wet she would sound muffled but once she dried out she was fine. She didn't recover after the third time and now when she sings it's a terrible screaching. My daughter said she sounds like Ursula when she's mad, and is scary. We finally had to remove the battery because if you made her light up and sing she would screach and wouldn't shut off on her own. I would recommend this doll for any Ariel fan but would strongly caution against getting it wet.
