The material is like felt, and I guess I was expecting "sock" material (i.e., the material from which our toddler's sock monkey was made). He doesn't want to keep the headpiece on for long, so maybe he can use it in lieu of a plastic pumpkin as a treat holder when we go out on Halloween.
