Then present your child with this Madeline doll or one of her friends, and watch the imagination roll in wholesome play. This little doll delights all my girls between the ages of one and six (although we did not give the shoes, socks or gloves to the littlest). They take her and her friends in the bathtub, out in the sandbox, everywhere! She holds up nicely and washes easily, and her hair, although it isn't quite as nice and neat as it used to be, is fun to comb and restyle. The smallest fingers will need help dressing Madeline and her friends, and little shoes are easily lost, but, with a little organization and some initial assistance, your three-year-old and above should catch on in no time! This is an ideal toy if you wish to avoid giving your child overly-developed Barbies or other toys that do nothing to stimulate wholesome play. Better yet, it may also instill in her a stronger interest in the Madeline books and consequently a lifetime love of reading. As a homeschool family of four young girls, we love Madeline and her values!
